A school uniform cosplay outfit is a very popular cosplay choice in Japan. It's also a relatively cheap cosplay option for fancy dress parties in other countries.

A Japanese sailor fuku outfit is what you need for a genuine school uniform cosplay outfit. They can be quite hard to find outside Japan, so try Japanese import companies such as Tokyo Toys. They're quite easy to find in adult sizes as there are plenty of women who wear school uniforms in Japan who are definately too old to be school girls! Japanese women do tend to be quite petite compared to Western women, so it might be harder to find them in larger sizes. It's often a good idea to order a size slightly larger than what you would normally wear.

You can get cheap outfits from auction sites, but they tend to be made in China and low quality compared to the genuine article sourced from Japan. While they are fine for a fancy dress party of occasional wearing on days such as Halloween, they won't tend to last very long.
