Cute Japanese Fashion

Here's another hub about cute Japanese fashion trends straight from the streets of trendy Tokyo.
Youth obsessed Japan has one overriding fashion idea - cute! It's good to look sexy, but better to look cute!
Here's all you need to know about teddy bear plushies, gothic dresses, cat's ears, killer heels and all other kinds of cute and wacky fashionable Japanese outfits and accessories.
Harajuku gothic fashion outfits
Harajuku is an essential destination for the foreign tourist in Japan. Today Harajuku gets insanely crowded at weekends.
Much of the raw Harajuku counter culture has since moved on to other areas of Tokyo such as Akihabara, but it remains a fascinating place to visit, especially on Sunday afternoons.
It's not uncommon to see girls wearing gothic lolita inspired outfits all over Japan. For many girls this is their normal everyday dress, and a good way to appear individualistic.
Most gothic outfits are either black, white or a combination of both colours. Sometimes all the rules are broken and gothic inspired outfit is pink! Here's a hub about Japanese Harajuku gothic inspired fashion.

Cat's ears and rabbit's ears head wear
You often see Japanese girls wearing cute cat's ears or rabbits ears. I don't know how this originated but it's tremendously cute.
Rabbit and cat's ears headwear is especially popular in Tokyo's Akihabara Electric Town District. Here it is possible to see many cute girls dressed in maid and other cosplay outfits.
A pair of cat's ears is the perfect accessory to a cute maid outfit. A few of Akihabara's maid cafes are themed around cats, because cats are cute.
In Tokyo's Ikebukuro district there's actually a visitor called the Nekkobukuro Cat's House. It's on the top floor of the Ikebukuro branch of the Tokyu Hands department store. After paying a few hundred yen you can go in and play with the resident cats!
Of course, most of the Nekkobukuro cats spend much of the time sleeping rather than playing with their human visitors but it is very cute and it's difficult to think of a place like this existing anywhere other than in Japan.
By the way, the Japanese word for cat is neko. A rabbit is an usajii.

Big teddy bears, Hello Kitty and other plushies
Teddy bears and other plushies are very popular. You normally see them attached to mobile phones via the mobile phone strap. Usually the plushie is bigger than the phone itself. I'm not sure what started this craze for oversized phone strap plushies, but again it's very cute.
Japanese school girls often attach plushie teddy bears and other stuffed animals to their school bags. As with their phones, school bag plushies tend to be big!
Hello Kitty is another tremendously popular plushie. Hello Kitty stores are all over Japan - there's one in Tokyo's Ikebukuro district and another one in central Shinjuku. Hello Kitty plushies and other merchandise are not just for kids - plenty of 20 and 30 something Japanese ladies can't get enough of the cute little kitty with the button eyes and big red bow.
