Due to the incredible popularity of my last hub in this area of interest, here are some more photos of Japanese school girls.

Japanese girls are the hottest trend setters on the planet, and you can be sure that anything that they adopt as trendy today will be popular the whole world over in a year or two.

Looking for fancy dress inspiration?

Here are some Japanese inspired school uniform cosplay ideas.

Lost school girls

Japanese school girls seem to spend a lot of time outside of school. School outings to museums and public parks are very popular. Often a school appears to take every single pupil on these trips. School outings are meticulously organised.

School girls tend to wander off between lessons, and usually they are to be found in popular stores such as the Hello Kitty stores, or in Tokyu Hands. Tokyu Hands is probably the best department store in the entire world, and it really is possible to spend all day in there! There's loads of cool stuff to look at in Tokyu Hands. The arts & crafts department is my favourite floor - it's a great place to pick up unusual greetings cards.

The Ikebukuro branch of Tokyu Hands has a cat petting zoo. For a few yen you can actually go in and play with the resident cats!

Sensible shoes

Strangely, for such fashion obsessed girls, Japanese school girls always seem to wear sensible shoes. Their shoes are invariably black. Slip-on shoes are especially popular, I guess they save valuable seconds when rushing for the train in the morning.

Cycling is very popular in Japan, so sensible shoes are a good choice to go cycling in.

If you ever decide to do a Japanese school cosplay outfit at a fancy dress Halloween party or other occasion then be sure to wear your most sensible shoes.

School bags

In Japan the best school bag is a BIG school bag! I don't know how much homework Japanese kids get, but you could fit dozens of books inside the average school bag.

I guess Japanese kids spend long hours away from home during a school day. There's often a long cycle ride or train journey to school. After school there is shopping or eating time, then there's the reverse trip back to the suburbs.

School bags are normally very plain. Maybe this is a school regulation? However, the bags are often accessorised with plushies, particularly teddy bears. Sometimes a bear is larger than the bag itself!

The Japanese and their umbrellas

The Japanese are probably the most umbrella obsessed nation on earth. I learnt on my last trip that Japanese rain can be heavy!

When it rains in Japan then literally nobody will be seen without an umbrella. The Japanese seem to like the large see through umbrellas. They're sold outside convenience stores and are quite cheap. It's just as well they're cheap, as they don't last long, particularly if it's windy.

School girls often share their umbrellas, particularly if they are best friends.

Plushies overload

Plushies are really popular in Japan! There are loads of stores that sell plushies. You can also win them in UFO catchers. The Japanese love amusement arcades, and most towns and cities will have several. An amusement arcade is not complete without at least half a dozen UFO catchers where you can win plushies and other goodies.

Japanese school girls are particularly fond of plushies. Their school bags will normally have one or more plushies attached to them. It's also possible to attach a plushie to a mobile phone by making use of the mobile phone's strap holder. Usually the phone plushie is larger than the phone itself.
